A voice application for lyric ideas

Songwriting Tips is a voice application that aims to provide users with amazing tips for inspiration. From creating the idea, usability testing, to the conversational prototype, I designed songwriting tips initially as an Alexa skill and experience.

Opportunity
Many hobbyist songwriters have no idea where to start when writing a song or develop writer's block. The idea of creating a simple voice app came from wanting to help fellow hobbyist songwriters. I sought to answer the following question:
"How can I inspire people who may be running out of ideas or do not know where to start in writing a song?"

Wizard of oz identified opportunities for improvement:

Clarity of onboarding message.

Users want songwriting tip verbalized first. Everything else is secondary.

A need for increased vocabulary variety.

Conclusion
It's amazing how many people want to write songs! I learned that writing dialogues means rewriting dialogues.
With every conversational design project I work on, it becomes more obvious that a voice user interface can have impact for individuals for business. I am proud to be a part of the conversational designer community and bring my passion in assisting people to make life easier.
